Buenos Aires, Argentina

English-speaking lawyers in Buenos Aires.

Argentine counsel for foreign companies, in-house legal teams and law firms that need local capability without a language barrier in the middle of the file.

Who we work with

Three kinds of client, one requirement.

Foreign companies setting up or already operating in Argentina, who need the local decisions explained in terms their board will understand. In-house legal teams who need Argentine law handled without translating every exchange. And foreign law firms who need local counsel on an Argentine leg of a matter and want to hand it over without managing it.

What the three have in common is that the language cannot be the thing that slows the file down.

What we handle

Eleven practices, one point of contact.

The firm is a boutique, which means the partner you meet is the partner who runs the file. Employment law for employers is the practice the firm was built on and remains its core.

Frequently asked questions

Before you get in touch.

Do you work directly in English, or through translators?
Our client-facing work with foreign companies is conducted in English: meetings, correspondence and reporting. Filings and proceedings before Argentine courts and public registries are in Spanish, because that is what Argentine procedure requires. What that means in practice is that you receive the analysis and the recommendation in English, and we handle the Spanish-language machinery underneath it.
Can you act as local counsel for a foreign law firm?
Yes. We regularly take the Argentine leg of matters led from abroad, working to the lead firm’s instructions and reporting in the format the file already uses. Employment, corporate and commercial disputes are the most frequent, and the sports and entertainment practices handle cross-border work of their own.
Do you advise companies that have not set up in Argentina yet?
Yes, and that is usually the best moment to talk. The structuring decisions taken before an entity exists are the ones that are most expensive to reverse later. Our guide to doing business in Argentina covers the fourteen questions that come up most often at that stage.
Where are you based?
Buenos Aires. The firm also runs the Vaca Muerta Desk, which combines legal and accounting advice with a physical presence in Añelo, Neuquén, for companies operating in the shale basin.
Can a foreign company hire employees in Argentina without setting up a local entity?
Not in a way that holds up. Hiring through a foreign entity, a contractor arrangement or an employer of record exposes you to misclassification claims, and Argentine labour courts look at the substance of the relationship rather than the paperwork. Setting up an entity first is almost always cheaper than defending the alternative.
How much does it cost to terminate an employee in Argentina?
The 2026 reform rewrote the severance base and made statutory severance the sole remedy, which made termination cost forecastable for the first time in years. The figure depends on seniority, salary base and the grounds for termination.
What size of company do you usually work with?
Mid-sized companies and the Argentine subsidiaries of larger groups. We are a boutique, which makes us a good fit for companies that want a senior lawyer on the matter and a poor fit for work that needs fifty associates.
Do you handle litigation, or only advisory work?
Both. Employment litigation in particular: defending claims is a natural extension of advising employers, and it is where most disputes involving foreign companies in Argentina end up.
